Zinedine Zidane proclaims his love for Morocco

Zinedine Zidane, former French international of Algerian origin, cannot help but proclaim his love for Morocco and its people.

“Every time I have been to Morocco, I have been treated well and the people have been very warm. I played in the Hassan II tournament with France on several occasions and I have very good memories of it,” he declared to Brand in 2004. At the time, he expressed the wish that Morocco would be the organizing country of the 2010 World Cup. “I would be very happy if Morocco could host the 2010 World Cup. It would be magnificent for all the countries of the Maghreb. This candidacy is a source of pride for me.”
