“Your country above all”: Morocco tries to retain its youth

Morocco is facing an unprecedented wave of illegal emigration, particularly from its youth. Faced with this phenomenon, the kingdom is deploying a shock awareness campaign to dissuade young people from attempting the crossing to Europe.

Billboards display strong messages: “Your country above all… Corruption and unemployment are not reasons to flee”, “Flight will not solve the problem… Exile can deceive you, but it’s the country who stays with yourself in difficult times.”
