Yassine, suffering from incurable cancer, supported by an exceptional mobilization

Yassine, a 34-year-old man working as an operational manager at the Dordrecht police in the Netherlands, thought he was suffering from simple abdominal pain. He consulted his GP, who immediately sent him to hospital. There, a stark diagnosis was given: metastasized stomach cancer, with a short time to live.

In early July, medical tests revealed a large tumor in his abdomen, with metastases to the liver, lymph nodes and abdominal wall. “They said they could do nothing more to cure him, only treat him palliatively to prolong his life a little with chemotherapy,” confides his brother Mehdi, still in shock at the news.
