Why Moroccans are shunning their beaches for the Costa del Sol

Some dishonorable practices observed on Moroccan beaches push many Moroccan tourists to spend their summer holidays in Andalusia, particularly in the Costa del Sol, in the south of Spain. Unlike in previous years, Moroccans residing in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Germany also opt for the same destination.

The south of Spain is still popular with Moroccans. This year, many of them are still spending their holidays on the beaches of the Iberian Peninsula during this summer period. This is evidenced by the number of Moroccan families who go there, as well as the number of cars registered in Morocco. The special feature this year? They were joined by members of the Moroccan community abroad who live in particular in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Germany. Thus, “several families residing in Morocco or in European countries organize meetings with their relatives residing abroad in Spanish cities, to spend their holidays together in tourist resorts, particularly on the Costa del Sol”, reports Al Ahdath Al Maghribia.
