When a Spanish police officer steals money from a MRE

A civil guard was sentenced to seven months in prison for stealing money from a Moroccan during a check at the Beni-Enzar border.

The facts date back to May 27, 2022. While carrying out a search of the vehicle of the Moroccan who was going to Melilla, the civil guard at the Beni-Enzar border recovered a fanny pack which was under the driver’s seat. Then, the agent, aged 39 at the time of the incident, opened the bag and removed 450 euros before putting it back in its place. Meanwhile, the Moroccan, aged 38, was subjected to a body search by other civil guards.
