Morocco is at 20ᵉ place in the world ranking of watermelons, with a production of 462.72 million kilos of watermelons in 2023, according to compiled data from Hortoinfo and Faostat, the Statistics Agency for the Organization of United Nations for Food and Agriculture (FAO).
With 462.72 million kilos of watermelons produced in 2023 on an area of 14,582 hectares, with an average yield of 3.17 kilos per square meter, Morocco is staying in the 20th place in this world ranking. A production down 140.23 million kilos compared to 2022, while the area used increased by 324 hectares, according to data from Hortoinfo and FAO.
