Watermelon cultivation makes Morocco thirsty

A Moroccan association is sounding the alarm regarding the intensive cultivation of red watermelon in Zagora.

An official letter was sent to the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, demanding urgent action. The association highlights the threat posed by this culture, foreign to the region, for the ecological balance and its role in aggravating climatic and social crises.
