Warning about halal merguez sausages unfit for consumption

Several batches of halal merguez sausages that are dangerous to health and sold in Metro stores across France have been the subject of a mass recall.

The mass recall of merguez sausages manufactured by the Breton Jean Chaplin slaughterhouses began last Monday. These are sausages marketed from June 25, 2024 to July 20, 2024. According to the government website Rappel Conso, they contain “residues of veterinary drugs”. The mass recall concerns the following models: Merguez Halal 50-60 g natural casing; Merguez halal special sandwich; Merguez Halal in 2.3 kg, Merguez halal vacuum-packed.
