Viper Shield: the new electronic warfare system for the Moroccan F-16
The 25 F-16 Block 70/72 fighter jets ordered last year by Morocco from the United States will be equipped with the Viper Shield electronic warfare system, the US Department of Defense announced on Thursday.
The American manufacturer Lockheed Martin, manufacturer of the F-16 Block 70/72, is also in charge of the production of the Viper Shield which will be delivered to five countries, namely Morocco, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Taiwan. Costing $520 million, production is expected to be completed by June 30, 2028.
