Veiled women turned away at the entrance of a restaurant in Rabat
Young women who had made reservations at a famous Asian restaurant in Rabat were turned away at the entrance because they were wearing the hijab.
In a Facebook post, Moroccan journalist Mohamed Ouamoussi recounted that his daughter had made a reservation for herself and a group of friends from France, Canada and the United States at this restaurant located in the Bir Kacem region of Rabat. But once at the entrance of the establishment, “four of her friends wearing the hijab were prevented from entering.” A flagrant violation of freedoms and human rights, he denounces.
