UN: Algerian diplomat fired after remarks against Morocco
At the request of Majda Moutchou, Morocco’s representative to the UN, the president of the National Union of Algerian Women, Nouria Hafsi, was expelled Tuesday from a meeting of the Fourth Committee of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, after attacking Morocco, which it called a “colonial” monarchy.
The Moroccan diplomat asked to stop this hostile speech against Morocco and to expel the Algerian representative from this meeting. UN police officers (UNPOL) quickly intervened and asked the Algerian official to leave the room.
