UK warns nationals visiting Morocco
The Foreign Office has issued specific advice to British nationals currently in Morocco or planning to travel there.
Morocco is a favourite tourist destination for Britons. They have been issued with a strong warning about their safety. The Foreign Office has advised its citizens to avoid areas where political protests are taking place. “Protests and demonstrations may take place across the country, particularly in major cities, often without warning. These events are usually closely monitored by law enforcement. While authorised demonstrations are generally peaceful, unauthorised demonstrations have occasionally led to clashes between protesters and police. Such gatherings may cause disruption to travel in the affected areas. Avoid political gatherings and demonstrations and follow local information and the guidance of security officials.”
