Two years later, Algeria reopens its doors to trade with Spain
Algeria has just ordered the resumption of trade with Spain, suspended since 2022 following Pedro Sánchez’s change of position on the Sahara in favor of Morocco.
“Foreign trade banking operations (of goods and services) to Spain must be processed in accordance with the exchange regulations in force,” indicates the circular from the Central Bank of Algeria dated November 6, 2024 and addressed to directors banks in the country. The entry into force of this note is scheduled for today, Thursday November 7, confides a former Algerian diplomat to The Spanish. In other words, commercial relations between Algeria and Spain are now reestablished, after more than two years of suspension.
