Two Chinese factories worth 6 billion dirhams in Tangier

A subsidiary of the industrial conglomerate China Baoan Group is building two factories in Tangier which will be operational in 2026 and will create more than 1,100 highly qualified jobs.

Construction projects by BTR New Material, a global pioneer in the production of cathodes and anodes for electric batteries, of two factories to manufacture anodes and cathodes for electric batteries in Tangier are taking shape. During a meeting held in Rabat on Tuesday, January 7, Karim Zidane, the Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, convergence and evaluation of public policies, and Yang Shuzhan, vice-president of the Chinese group, had exchanges on the progress of work on the cathode production unit, launched at the start of 2024, as well as on the launch by BTR of a second project relating to the construction of an anode factory within the Mohammed VI City Tangier Tech.
