Turkish embargo: Israel turns to Moroccan cars

The trade embargo imposed by Turkey on Tel Aviv due to the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip is causing serious disruptions in the Israeli automotive sector. Faced with this situation, Israel has turned to Morocco to import cars produced on its territory.

Turkey halted trade with Israel (exports and imports) early last month, following a previous decision to suspend exports of 54 products mainly related to construction materials. According to Israeli economic analysts, this trade embargo will cause significant damage to the industry and trade of the Jewish state. Moreover, Israeli media reported last August that car importers in Israel were facing a severe shortage of famous brands such as “Hyundai, Toyota, Renault and Ford”, which had stopped arriving from Turkey since May.
