This means that travellers will once again have to carry liquids with a maximum capacity of 100 ml, instead of 125 ml. They will also have to repack packets containing liquids in a single transparent plastic bag, with a maximum volume of one litre. Introduced in 2006, these security rules for liquids and gels had been relaxed at some airports such as Frankfurt Airport when luggage could be screened using CT scanners, which use technology developed for medical scanners and can quickly create a three-dimensional image of the contents of a bag, reports Belgian.
