Trafficking in false certificates in Rabat: the sentences fall

Four officials from the city of Rabat were convicted by the city’s court of first instance for their membership in a network of falsification of residence certificates allowing non-residents to obtain city registration plates.

The agents set up a network selling false residence certificates, allowing non-residents of Rabat to register their vehicles and obtain registration plates from the capital. An illegal practice which undermines the integrity of the national registration system, estimated the court which sentenced the four agents to 22 months in prison: 8 months for one, 6 months for another, and 4 months for the remaining two.
