Towards a cancellation of Eid al-Adha in Morocco?

Concern among Moroccans is growing over whether or not the celebration of Eid al-Adha will continue this year. The government, for its part, is awaiting the results of the national livestock census to make a decision.

“The decision will be taken once the composition of the national herd is known,” declared the Minister of Agriculture, Ahmed El Bouari, quoted by Al-Akhbarspecifying that this operation, launched recently, “will allow the ministry to have a clear idea of ​​the production capacity of breeders to meet national needs”. The minister added that “the results of the census will help the ministry to prepare a practical and realistic program, in which parliamentarians will be involved in order to remedy possible dysfunctions.”
