The train (and the TGV) arrive in Tetouan

The National Office of Railways (ONCF) is working for the success of the project to connect Tetouan to the railway and motorway networks. This is evidenced by the response of Mohamed Abdeljalil, Minister of Transport and Logistics, to Parliament.

Responding to a written question, Mohamed Abdeljalil said that the National Railways Office (ONCF) has launched a call for tenders for the preliminary studies on the connection of the city of Tetouan to the national railway network. He specified that approximately 8 billion dirhams must be mobilized for the implementation of the project. He is therefore counting on cooperation between all stakeholders in order to find adequate solutions for its financing, in particular through a partnership with the Office and the regional councils concerned. This project should not only facilitate the mobility of the city’s inhabitants, but it should also boost the development of the entire region, promote tourism and create jobs. The ONCF currently ensures the connection of the city of Tetouan with the railway network through a fleet of “Supratours” buses belonging to the Office, which allow regular journeys between Tangier and Tetouan throughout the day, in synchronization with the journeys of the Al Boraq and Al Atlas trains to the different regions of the Kingdom, he further specified.
