The TGV to Agadir before 2030?

Morocco is seriously considering extending its high-speed line to Agadir, host city of the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Abdessamad Kayouh, Minister of Transport and Logistics, recently announced that the preliminary study of this ambitious project would be finalized by mid-2025.

This 240-kilometer section, linking Marrakech to Agadir, is expected to cost some 50 billion dirhams and require the construction of 37 kilometers of tunnels. A major challenge for the Kingdom which aims to complete the work before the start of the 2030 World Cup. To achieve this, the Moroccan authorities will have to work hard and launch expropriation procedures and technical studies as quickly as possible.
