The Tangier airport extension project is taking shape

As part of the Tangier-Ibn-Battouta airport expansion project, in anticipation of the 2030 World Cup, the Moroccan government has initiated the process of expropriating several plots of land in the Tangier-Asilah prefecture.
Decree No. 2.24.852, signed by the Head of Government and countersigned by the Minister of Transport and Logistics, and published in the Official Bulletin on January 6, 2025, established the expropriation of these lands for reasons of public utility . These are “bare agricultural lands, located in the prefecture of Tangier-Asilah, belonging to private owners as well as habous property (waqf)”, indicates the text. The National Airports Office (ONDA) is the beneficiary of this expropriated land with a view to carrying out the Tangier-Ibn-Battouta airport extension project.
