The ordeal of MREs in Casablanca denounced by a deputy

Moroccans living abroad (MRE) are going through an ordeal when receiving the bodies of their loved ones at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca. A member of parliament from the Justice and Development Party (PJD) is calling on Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit and Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita on the issue.

At Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport, the reception by Moroccans living abroad (MRE) of the bodies of their loved ones is an obstacle course due to the complex and exhausting procedures. The journey begins from the area dedicated to goods to the area reserved for passengers, followed by the direction to the national security post to complete the administrative and security procedures. Then, it is necessary to return to the badge granting service to return the badge, and finally return to the goods reception service to collect the coffin after paying the due fees, it is specified. According to the parliamentary opposition, the process takes at best two and a half hours. A heavy burden that adds to the pain of the grieving MREs.
