The murder of Soufiane Benali: a trial between revenge and trafficking in Brussels
The trial of the murder of Soufiane Benali, a 23-year-old young man, nicknamed “Nana”, killed in July 2020 in Forest, Belgium, continues before the Brussels Assize Court with the indictment of the attorney general. One of the family’s lawyers denounces “a publicity assassination”.
During Monday’s hearing, Redwan Mettioui, lawyer for the family of Soufiane Benali, pleaded guilty to Mohamed-Amine Dardour, Youssef Jeddi and Younes Bakkali, all three accused of being authors or co-authors of the assassination of young man of 23 years in Forest on July 5, 2020, reports The Last Hour. “The file is clear, crystal clear. It allows you to judge them guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.” The lawyer did not fail to express his feelings. “War scenes like that, where machine guns were fired in the middle of the street, were unheard of in Brussels. And seeing that the two main suspects, Mohamed-Amine Dardour and Youssef Jeddi, were such young individuals, I found it hard to believe,” he confided.
