The alarming state of Moroccan highways worries
Morocco’s highway network is poorly maintained and does not offer safety guarantees to road users. This is what reveals, among other things, a recent report on the management of the National Highway Company of Morocco (ADM).
Entitled “Temporary exploratory mission on the National Highway Company”, this report prepared by the Committee on Infrastructure, Energy, Mines, Environment and Sustainable Development of the House of Representatives notes the “degraded state” highways, which complicates life for users. “The length of the network and the lack of resources for maintenance have left many sections in a degraded state requiring a reduction in speed, such as the Fez-Taza section, as well as the non-monitoring of maintenance programs in the face of increased traffic on the network,” the document said.
