Taxis in Morocco: finally the big reform?

In a correspondence addressed to the walis of the regions and the governors of the prefectures and provinces of Morocco, Abdelouafi Laftit, Minister of the Interior, called for reorganizing the taxi sector in order to improve the quality of transport services and meet the needs citizens.

The transport sector needs to be restructured to make it more competitive, said the minister, stressing the need to strengthen communication with professionals in the sector and raise their awareness to improve the quality of services offered by taxis. Abdelouafi Laftit invited walis and governors to set new conditions for taxi operation and licensing to ensure that taxis operating in their jurisdiction provide quality services and fully meet customer needs.
