Beaten by Spain in the semi-final, the Atlas Lion Cubs bounced back on Thursday by beating Egypt for the third step on the podium (6-0), at the “La Beaujoire” stadium in the city of Nantes, thus winning the first Olympic medal in their history at the Paris Olympic Games. Tarik Sectiouithe coach of the Moroccan Olympic team, dedicates this medal to King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people.

The Moroccan Olympic team quickly recovered from its defeat against Spain. On Thursday, the Atlas Lions beat Egypt (6-0), thanks in particular to a double from Soufiane Rahimi, top scorer at the Paris Olympic Games. They finished third in the competition and won the first Olympic medal in their history. At a post-match press conference, Tarik Sektioui, the coach of the Moroccan Olympic team, dedicated this historic medal to King Mohammed VI, “to our big family and also to my little family, especially my mother.”
