Tangier seeks cash from nightclubs and casinos

The urban municipality of Tangier is banking on levies relating to games and nightclubs to increase its tax revenues within the framework of the budget forecasts for the year 2025.

The Tangier Finance Commission prepares the municipality’s budget. Currently, she is looking into the question of revenue. Municipal services anticipate revenue of around 10 million dirhams from the hotel establishment housing the city’s casino, reports Al-Akhbar. In 2023, the amount paid to the municipality is around 10.2 MDH. Based on the observation that the previous office led by elected officials of the PJD had avoided increasing the municipal levies on the proceeds of games at the casino, the municipality decided to take the plunge.
