Tangier: are tourists back?

Despite the huge delay in the tourist season due to the shift in school exam dates and the celebration of Eid al-Adha, tourism is gradually resuming in the Tangier – Tetouan – Al Hoceima region. The month of August looks promising.

“Usually, the summer season starts between July 15 and 20 and lasts until the end of August, but this year we started late,” said Rkia Alaoui, president of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Regional Tourism Council. The tourism sector is trying to catch up. “Most hotels managed to make up for this delay in the last week of July, or so,” she said. Rkia Alaoui said she is confident that August will be a promising month.
