Spectacular escape of the four Moroccans at Madrid airport
Five asylum seekers holding Moroccan passports escaped on Tuesday night from one of the waiting rooms at Madrid-Barajas airport through a hole in the ceiling. One of them was arrested. The four others, missing, are actively sought by the police.
The four asylum seekers managed to reach the roof of the building and disappear into the wild. The police are looking for them. This escape shows the security gaps in asylum seekers’ waiting rooms, people told EFE police unions, denouncing “bad conditions” of work. “You cannot work in these conditions, without security measures and without adequate conditions,” they argue, fearing that the fugitives “wander on the tracks or in various places where they could endanger security.”
