Many Moroccans, especially those from the north of the kingdom, prefer to spend their annual holidays abroad, particularly in Spain.
“I look forward to this time of year. For three years, I have been visiting the south of Spain to relax and do shopping far from Tangier and its routine,” confides to Hespress Mohamed, a resident of Tangier. He says it is the high cost and rising prices of tourism in popular Moroccan destinations like Marrakech and Agadir that are driving him away from cities in southern Spain.
