Spain sends clear warning to Morocco
Spain sends clear warning to Morocco
Since last July, Spain has deployed the patrol boat Isla Pinto (P-84) in Melilla to carry out a surveillance and deterrence mission, as well as in Ceuta and the Spanish islands and rocks claimed by Morocco.
With this permanent mission of this patrol boat in Melilla, Spain wants to send a clear warning to Morocco. “In Ceuta and Melilla, we must remind Morocco that Spain continues to own both cities and that they have territorial waters with a series of rights that must be respected,” said The Ceuta Lighthouse Manuel Ángel López, commander of the patrol boat Isla Pinto. And he added: “The Navy is working to control an area as vital as the Strait of Gibraltar, and so that the patrol boats of the Moroccan Navy know that we, and the Civil Guard, are vigilant.”
