Spain sends a strong message to Morocco

The Spanish Navy plans to deploy its L-61 Juan Carlos I aircraft carrier, the largest warship built in Spain, to Melilla on October 6. This is a way of reaffirming its sovereignty over this territory claimed by Morocco.

Since April, Spanish ships have been carrying out surveillance and deterrence missions in territories claimed by Morocco, such as the enclaves of Sebta and Melilla, as well as the Chafarinas Islands and the Velez de la Gomera rock.
