Spain abolishes the “golden visa” for Moroccans
The Spanish Congress approved the abolition of “golden visas” which offer the possibility to foreigners, including Moroccans, to acquire housing and make commercial investments in the Iberian Peninsula. These visas will continue to be granted until the new measure comes into force.
This measure is among the amendments made by the parliamentary group of the Spanish Socialist Party (PSOE) to the law on judicial efficiency, approved Thursday by Congress by 179 votes for, 169 against and 0 abstentions. This amendment repeals Articles 63, 64, 65, 66 and 67 which governed the granting of golden visas for the acquisition of real estate and investments in bank deposits, public debt, shares, investment funds and general interest business projects in Spain, reports The country.
