Shocking content online: Morocco wants to crack down

The proliferation of immoral, frivolous and offensive content on social networks is a concern for civil society and political actors, especially opposition MPs. They are calling for decisive action to combat this negative phenomenon, which affects the social and cultural fabric of society. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, suggests possible solutions.

Such content is harmful to the entire society, especially to young people and children who may be exposed to it without supervision, opposition lawmakers said during the oral question session in the House of Representatives on Monday. They called on the government to play a key role in combating this phenomenon by strengthening surveillance and strictly enforcing laws to ensure a safe and comfortable internet environment.
