Serious accusations against Morocco

Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of the Iran-backed Houthi movement in Yemen, has strongly criticized Morocco’s position on the Palestinian cause. He also praised Moroccans who have expressed their opposition to the normalization of relations between the kingdom and Israel.

In a speech broadcast by the Houthi-affiliated channel on Thursday, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi accused Morocco of being a “collaborator, traitor and accomplice of the Israeli enemy.” He criticized the kingdom for increasing its economic partnership with Israel. Referring to Morocco’s position on the Palestinian cause, he portrayed the Moroccan government as being at odds with the sentiments and aspirations of the Arab and Muslim community as a whole. The Houthi leader expressed disappointment at what he described as a significant gap between the Moroccan government’s actions and the values of Islam and the Quran. He also noted that there was a clear distinction between the Moroccan government’s policy and the sentiments of the Moroccan people and praised the Moroccans’ continued resistance to the normalization of relations between Morocco and Israel, as well as the existence of a “continuous movement” in the country in support of the Palestinian cause.
