Serial drama in Casablanca: three women die during childbirth, investigation opened
The King’s Attorney General at the Casablanca Court of Appeal on Monday ordered the opening of an investigation after the death of three pregnant women during childbirth in a private clinic, thus satisfying the request of the Moroccan Organization for Rights humans who had filed a complaint against the establishment.
The investigation should determine the causes of these three deaths which occurred successively in the same clinic, including two on the same day. The managers of the maternity department and the anesthetists of the establishment must be interviewed as part of this investigation. The opening of the investigation follows the approach taken by the president of a human rights association, reports Assaba. After being contacted by the husband of one of the victims, the association filed a complaint with the king’s prosecutor in which it reports these successive and similar deaths and requests the opening of an immediate and exhaustive investigation to determine the true causes of these deaths and hold accountable all those who were negligent or involved in this matter.
