Samira Said recalls her memories with King Hassan II

The Moroccan singer Samira Said met the late King Hassan II for the first time during a musical performance at the royal palace.

Samira Said opens up about her relationship with Hassan II. During a press conference on the sidelines of her participation in the 19th edition of the Mawazine Festival, she recalled her first meeting with the late king. She confided that she entered the royal palace at the age of 12, to perform a set of songs that had impressed Mohammed VI’s father. She specified that the late king had asked her to perform two French songs in the presence of former Egyptian President Anwar Sadat. According to her, Hassan II had a distinctive taste and artistic sense.
