Royal Air Maroc ruins MRE holidays

Salwa Demnati, a socialist MP (opposition), denounced the increase in the price of Royal Air Maroc tickets for Moroccans around the world who wish to spend their summer holidays in Morocco, accusing the company of charging high prices while it benefits from state subsidies every year.

Demnati criticized Royal Air Maroc’s pricing policy, which does not make life easier for Moroccans living abroad (MRE) who want to spend their summer holidays in Morocco. The parliamentarian gave the example of Moroccans in Canada who have to pay more than 2,000 Canadian dollars for a plane ticket to Morocco. “How do you expect these people to come to their country and boost tourism?” she asked.
