In Belgium, the son of a Moroccan woman was sentenced to six years in prison for the attempted murder of his love rival and one year in prison for possession of cannabis. Unsatisfied, he pleaded for a suspended sentence.
Born in a Spanish enclave in Morocco to a Flemish father and a Moroccan mother, Corentin, who arrived in Belgium at the age of 12, without really mastering French, is caught up by his past. He was involved in a fight that almost cost the life of a young Brussels man. The scene takes place on November 14, 2020, rue des Muscadins in La Louvière. He attacks his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend and breaks his rib. Admitted to hospital, the victim survives her injuries.
