Road safety: Morocco focuses on infrastructure

The Ministry of Equipment and Water invests nearly 18 billion dirhams each year to implement road projects, Nizar Baraka said on Wednesday, during a conference in Rabat.

In his speech at the opening of the national symposium organized by the ministry, in partnership with the Permanent Moroccan Association of Road Congresses (AMPCR), on the theme “Operation and Safety of Roads in Mountain Areas”, Baraka indicated that his department regularly deploys teams specialized in reopening roads in mountainous areas in winter due to snowfall, and in desert areas in summer due to the encroachment of sand dunes on the roads.
