Ramadan 2025: start and end dates in Morocco

Based on scientific calculations, it is possible to know precisely the date of the start of the month of Ramadan in Morocco as well as that of Eid el Fitr.

It has not yet been officially announced by the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs, but if we are to believe the astronomical calculations based on precise scientific rules, Ramadan should begin in Morocco on Sunday March 2 and end on Monday March 31, 2025, Eid al-Fitr. The fasting period should therefore last 29 days in Morocco. According to Moroccan astronomers, it begins at the start of the new moon and ends at the start of the next lunar cycle. Even if the calculations make it possible to know precisely the day of the new moon, Moroccan tradition requires that the star be observable with the naked eye.
