Ramadan 2025 in Morocco: what availability for dates?

Date producers and traders in Morocco reassure consumers of the availability and affordable prices of this product on the market during the holy month of Ramadan.

The prices of the date varieties most popular with Moroccan consumers “will not record significant increases” during the next month of Ramadan, professionals indicated, specifying that these increases will not exceed 10% and that the prices of Mejhoul varieties and Faqous should remain stable. However, they underline a “clear decline” in the supply of local dates this year due to the persistent drought which has hit the kingdom for six years, the fires which have ravaged hectares of oases, and the floods which have destroyed tonnes of dates. According to professionals, the price of the “Mejhoul” variety should not exceed 120 dirhams. That of the Faqous variety will range between 40 and 60 dirhams depending on the quality.
