Rabat-Ville station is being modernized to accommodate the TGV

The rehabilitation works of the Rabat-Ville train station have resumed, after a long period of suspension. They have been entrusted to the firm of architect Youssef Melehi who designed the Rabat-Agdal and Marrakech stations, replacing the AWM firm.

Youssef Melehi’s firm was selected to carry out the renovation work on the Rabat-Ville train station, after AWM’s firm failed to comply with UNESCO’s aesthetic codes and recommendations. Youssef Melehi’s firm therefore committed to respecting a certain number of requirements allowing the construction of glass walls and roofs in order to give the building “a touch that is both heritage and contemporary, marking the link between the past and the present”.
