Quebec celebrates two parliamentarians of Moroccan origin

Marwah Rizqy and Monsef Derraji, both Quebec parliamentarians of Moroccan origin, were named “parliamentarians of the year” by their peers.

Two Moroccans among the winners of the Parliamentarians’ List. Member of the provincial constituency of Saint-Laurent in the National Assembly of Quebec since 2018, Marwah Rizqy was elected parliamentarian of the year for the second consecutive year. “It’s the greatest vote of confidence you can get. I love what I do. And that’s what makes my departure even more difficult,” she says happily. In October, this professional lawyer announced her intention to hang up at the end of her mandate. “I don’t want to be a part-time mother,” she said.
