Panic in Casablanca

A young man was found dead on Sunday in the commune of Chlalat, near Mohammedia after being attacked by stray dogs and another young man died from a probable rabies infection in the town of Rahma, in outskirts of Casablanca, causing panic among residents.

These two incidents worry civil society actors who are asking public authorities to intervene and resolve this problem by creating spaces dedicated to these dogs, while carrying out their sterilization in order to limit their reproduction. Actors involved in the defense of animal rights, however, deplore the slaughter of dogs.
