Oumi Rayane: “I felt like a criminal” for wanting to kiss my husband

Oumaima Oumi RayaneThe wife of Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel has spoken of the difficulties she encountered in congratulating her husband who won the first stage of the Tour de France on Friday.

Oumi followed the race in the waiting room and was proud of her husband’s achievement. But sending him a word of congratulations for this victory was a real obstacle course, she says in a video posted on Instagram. In the footage, the Moroccan woman can be seen walking through a crowd of people, being jostled and climbing barriers before seeing Remco. “(…) This is what I have to do to see my husband before returning to Belgium.”
