Organization of the 2030 World Cup: a report assesses the impact for Morocco

The organization of the 2030 Football World Cup, jointly with Spain and Portugal, represents a major challenge for the development of Morocco. A recent report from the Government Labor Observatory (OTRAGO) highlights the potential economic gains and the challenges to overcome for the event to sustainably benefit the country.
First asset: tourism. OTRAGO expects more than 1.5 million additional visitors, generating between 2 and 3 billion dollars in revenue. Accommodation, catering, transport and leisure should therefore experience strong activity. Hotels could be full, requiring infrastructure to be modernized and services improved.
