Operation Marhaba 2024 (MRE): an unprecedented influx at Spanish ports

As of July 28, 1,179,325 Moroccans from Europe and 291,673 vehicles have reached Morocco via Spanish ports as part of Operation Marhaba, representing an increase of 9.3% and 11.7% compared to the same period of the previous year.

“We are at record numbers that make us predict that on September 15, when we end the operation, we will be facing the Operation with the highest number of shipments in its 35-year history,” said the Spanish Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, during the monitoring and coordination meeting of Operation Transit that he chaired on Monday at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Civil Protection and Emergencies.
