While the Moroccans expected a drop in the prices of olive oil after the end of the harvesting and pressing phases, nothing has obviously changed for them.
Exorbitant prices continue until 2025. According to a team of Go out Who went to some supermarkets in the city of Salé, some known brands sell the liter of olive oil at 91.90 dirhams, while others fix the price at 93.90 dirhams or 93, 50 dirhams. Regarding the price of half a liter, it revolves around 47 dirhams. The team has also noted that the prices of certain varieties produced in a specific way exceed these prices. “Olive oil currently costs between 90 and 95 dirhams per liter, while it was sold between 85 and 90 dirhams before the start of the pressing season,” confirmed a local merchant in Rabat.
