No Brazilian poultry for Morocco

The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture has taken drastic measures after a case of Newcastle disease was discovered in a poultry farm in Anta Gorda, Rio Grande do Sul state. An embargo has been imposed on poultry exports to several countries, including Morocco, in accordance with current health agreements.

This decision, announced in a circular note from the Animal Products Inspection Department, concerns both processing and export slaughterhouses. The embargo is applied in a differentiated manner depending on the importing countries: some suffer a total suspension of imports, while for others, such as Morocco, the embargo is partial and limited to products from Rio Grande do Sul.
